Chemical Odor Reported at Baltimore City Health Department Druid Health Clinic

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIMORE, MD (September 20, 2016) – This afternoon, Baltimore City Health Department's Druid Health Clinic reported a chemical-based odor emanating from an unknown substance in the second floor lab. 

At approximately 3:30 p.m., health officials immediately closed down the area. Staff and patients vacated the second floor of the building. Staff contacted emergency personnel and a hazardous materials crew was dispatched to investigate. 

Out of an abundance of caution, one staff member was transported for precautionary medical attention. No other staff or patients were affected.

Both the first floor of Druid Health Clinic and the STD clinic on the second floor will resume normal operations tomorrow, Wednesday, September 21.

No hazardous materials were found as a result of the investigation.

Additional Cooling Centers Added in Response to Escalating Heat Index for Tuesday, July 16

BALTIMORE, MD (Monday, July 15, 2024) — As temperatures continue to rise and the heat index escalates, Baltimore City remains under a Code Red Extreme Heat Alert through Wednesday, July 17. With the heat index expected to exceed 110 degrees on Tuesday, July 16, additional cooling centers will be available across the City for those seeking to escape the heat.The following are the additional cooling centers added for Tuesday, July 16:
