Baltimore's Safe Streets Program in need of funding

The city celebrated the opening of its fifth Safe Streets site in Baltimore on Thursday.
The violence prevention program is run by the Baltimore City Health Department, but on Friday Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen went to Annapolis, saying the program is in danger of ending.
Politicians and community members came out for the opening of the newest Safe Streets site in Sandtown-Winchester Thursday. The fifth site is funded largely through Catholic charities and operates out of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.
