Tuesday Sep 1st, 2015
Baltimore health officials are demonstrating how to use a tool that can help save lives.
Marking the first Overdose Awareness Week in Maryland, Baltimore Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen and her staff are training people how to reverse the deadly effects of an overdose and save lives.
Wen would like every person to be trained to use naloxone, also known as Narcan, joining 3,000 others in the city who have learned how to use the prescription medication that prevents a fatal overdose of opiates, including heroin and pills.
